ABOUT JASPER BLAKE  and B78 Multi-sport coaching

What got you started in triathlons?

I was a downhill skier but we did a ton of running and biking for training- One of my earliest coaches was an awesome role model and got me into the sport.

What is your biggest accomplishment or career highlights:

Ironman Canada Champion 2006

Commonwealth Games Team Alternate 2002

What one or two things do you currently do in your training that are keys to your success?

I am now coaching full time with but if I was training I would say that consistency is the key. Day in and day out- nothing fancy just keep getting the work done.

What keeps you busy these days?

I now have a thriving coaching business called B78 Multi-sport which keeps me busy helping our athletes reach their goals.

What would be a dream goal for B78?

Build a thriving, innovative and fun coaching company that helps people smash big goals.

What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?

Time management- I have to be very disciplined with my time- running a business is like sport- you get out what you put in. I put energy into it every day and staying fit and healthy is a big part of being able to do that.

Where do you draw your inspiration from? Who are your role models?

I have draw inspiration from everyone work with- Everyone that works with us is starting from somewhere different and aiming somewhere different- I’m as inspired by the athlete who is a first timer and biting off a big challenge as I am by someone who wants to win the biggest thing in our sport. Humans can do amazing things when they put their minds to it- I see people every day doing things that inspire me.

What is your favourite Swagman rack?

I like the Semi 2.0. It’s small and light but very versatile- Sometimes I’m carrying road bikes, sometimes I’m carrying Mtn Bikes with 29’ers and it works with everything. Our company car is a small rip around car designed for rider support at camps so we want something small and compact that gets the job done when we need it.
