ABOUT Catharine Pendrel
Catharine Pendrel is one of the most consistent women in the world on a mountain bike having stood on 39 World Cup podiums, won the World Cup overall three times, the World Championships twice and represented Canada at the past 3 Olympic Games, claiming Bronze this summer in Rio. At Rio 2016, Pendrel battled back from a crash very early in the race to finish on the podium with the bronze medal. Two weeks after the Games she won her third overall World Cup title.

What is your biggest accomplishment in your mountain biking career?/ or career highlights:
Olympic Bronze in Rio! 2 x World Champion (2011 & 2014)
What one or two things do you currently do in your training that are keys to your success?
Ski in winter to keep mentally fresh and Keep it fun. I am focused when it is time for business, but I make sure the joy of riding is there every day
What are some of your goals this season?
Another world Champ title would be cool!

May have hit that this summer!
What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?
Serious answer…Probably life Balance. Ensuring that the most important things are getting my attention rather than the time sensitive or more exciting distractors. Requires checking back in with my goals often!
Where do you draw your inspiration from? Who are your role models?
Everyone one I am surrounded by. I draw a lot of inspiration from my competition, my family, friends, team, everything they do well and I would like to emulate.
